LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY (LPA) AND APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY
Making an LPA is advisable to enable someone to help you look after your affairs should you become unable to do so yourself. Since the change in the law in October 07 making an LPA has become more complicated and we can advise and guide you through the maze. We can help you with the lengthy forms and the registration process.
Where a person is no longer able to make an LPA, we can help with the procedure for appointing a Deputy through the Office of Public Guardian.
If a person does not have friends or relatives who can help, we may be able to assist by becoming an Attorney or Deputy and we will always operate strictly within professional guidelines and act in the person's best interest.
ADMINISTERING ESTATES
We specialise in this area having had many years of experience. Whether the Deceased has left a will or not, we can help with registering the death, arranging the funeral, clearing and selling any property, calling in assets and paying expenses, attending to all tax matters and distributing the estate.
Where Inheritance Tax is an issue, we can help with completing the forms and negotiating with H M Revenue & Customs and we may be able to offer retrospective tax planning via deeds of variation.
